Embrace Healing Through Touch

Massage therapy, a pathway to wellness.

At Point of Health, massage therapy is clinical care, not a spa experience. Our licensed massage therapists, Ausra and Victoria, bring a combined 27 years of hands-on clinical experience to every session, focusing on what your body actually needs to heal, move better, and feel relief that lasts. Whether you're dealing with chronic back pain, neck and shoulder tension, a sports injury, or stress that's settled into your muscles, massage therapy in Downers Grove is part of a coordinated treatment plan, not just a one-time fix.

What Makes Our Massage Therapy Different

Point of Health is a multi-discipline clinic, which means your massage therapist works alongside chiropractors and an acupuncturist under one roof. Many of our patients receive chiropractic care, acupuncture, and massage in the same visit, each treatment reinforcing the others. This is how patients get better faster, not by going through the hoops of coordinating multiple separate providers, but by having a team that actually talks to each other about your case.

This integrated approach is what separates clinical massage therapy from a standard relaxation session. Our team's focus is therapeutic: reducing muscle tension that feeds into joint dysfunction, improving circulation to areas that aren't healing, and helping your nervous system downregulate so your other treatments hold longer.

Conditions We Commonly Address with Massage

Our massage therapy in Downers Grove is well-suited for a wide range of concerns:

  • Neck pain and shoulder tension, often connected to desk posture or old injuries
  • Low back pain, especially chronic tension that hasn't responded to other care
  • Sports injuries and muscle strains, including ligament and tendon recovery
  • Headaches and TMJ-related tension
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation (in coordination with your care team)
  • Stress and anxiety, where chronic muscle holding is part of the picture
  • Sciatica and hip tightness

Whether you need deep tissue massage to work through adhesions or a more therapeutic approach to calm an overactive nervous system, our massage therapists tailor every session to your specific condition.

About Our Massage Therapists

Ausra Gecas Licensed Massage Therapist

Ausra is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and a graduate of Olympia College in Burr Ridge, IL. With 17 years of clinical massage experience, she brings genuine expertise to conditions that require more than pressure, including chronic pain patterns, post-injury recovery, and stress-related muscle dysfunction. She works closely with our chiropractors and acupuncturist to ensure your massage sessions complement every other aspect of your care.

Victoria Panozzo, Licensed Massage Therapist

Victoria graduated as Valedictorian from The Soma Institute of Clinical Massage Therapy in Chicago and went on to spend five years at one of the city's leading integrative wellness clinics before returning to the suburbs. That background shows in her work: 10 years of clinical massage experience informed by a deep understanding of how the body's systems connect. Victoria is currently completing a degree in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, preparing to sit for her national boards and transition to practice as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She's a rare find — a skilled manual therapist who sees your muscles, your meridians, and everything in between.

Who We See

Our patients come from all walks of life and all kinds of situations. The suburban parent who threw out their back picking up a toddler. The desk worker whose neck and shoulders have been locked up for months. The weekend athlete pushing through a hamstring strain. The person who hasn't slept well in years because they can't get their body to relax. What they have in common is that they've usually tried something else first, and they're ready for care that's actually connected to a plan.

If that sounds like you, you're in the right place.

Frequently Asked Questions

No referral is needed. You can book directly through our online booking page. If you're already a patient at our clinic, we'll coordinate your massage with your existing care plan. New patients are always welcome.

Yes. Massage therapy for back pain works by releasing the muscular tension that contributes to pain, improving blood flow to injured areas, and reducing the nervous system activation that keeps your muscles in a guarded state. When combined with chiropractic care at our Downers Grove clinic, patients typically see faster and more lasting results than with either approach alone.

It depends on what you're dealing with. Acute injuries or recent flare-ups often respond quickly, sometimes within two or three sessions. Chronic conditions that have been building for months or years typically require a more consistent treatment plan. At Point of Health, your massage therapist will give you an honest assessment after your first session and coordinate with your care team on realistic expectations.

Your first session starts with a brief intake conversation so your therapist understands what's going on and what you're hoping to get out of treatment. From there, the session is tailored to your needs, your therapist will check in on pressure and comfort throughout. Most patients leave feeling immediate relief, though some notice mild soreness the following day as the tissues respond and begin to heal.
